하 나 Day Trip
Yesterday 17th november 2008 , 7 of us which consist me, wawa, jiang, ah boy(a.k.a girl number 3), jason lim, ah fuei and our beloved tuition teacher Ms.Wong Foong Ming went for a one day trip to Penang !! Let me tell you how we ended up choosing and going to Penang.
At the beginning, our trip wasn’t to Penang but to Setiawan for a great seafood meal !! We planned to meet up at FM’s place at 9.30 a.m for breakfast together then start journey to Setiawan. But last minute we changed plan to Penang as we were told that Setiawan’s seafood restaurants won’t be open that early and we couldn’t figure out what else we could do other than eating seafood in Setiawan. So we quickly called our other friends who were going to penang on the same day and knows Penang’s road very well to check if they have left Ipoh. We then found out that they just finished their breakfast at MCD and wanted to leave, so we hurriedly went there to join them and left in 3 cars – Proton drove by Elaine, Mercedes drove by Camenn’s boyfriend and Estima drove by our driver Ah Boy.
We left Ipoh approximately at 10 in the morning and reached around 12 i guess, couldn’t really remember what time we reached. During the journey the journey to Penang , our DJ wawa talked non-stop and made us laugh non-stop until we felt abit tired and hungry even before reaching Penang. Our car then stopped at one of the rest stops to visit the toilet and grab some foods for our poor stomach which made us lost track of the two other cars, so our skillful driver speed up to catch up with the other 2 cars. “Shhh !!! Don’t tell our parents we speed up and drove so fast” LOL. When we reached , we first went to Gurney plaza for breakfast at “Manhattan Fish Market” which cost us Rm180 but we all think its worth it except for Ah Boy as he was fooled by the menu and ordered an espesso cause he thought mineral water is RM2.50. Haha. After our yummy breakfast, we loitered around Gurney plaza until 3.30p.m but only wawa and foong ming happily bought stuff. Elaine then planned to bring us to get famous Penang biscuits from Him Hiang but we couldn’t find the shop so ended up in Ghee Hiang. Ater that we wanted to go to the beach for a walk but the sun was burning hot so we detoured and went to the toy museum which we saw toys from cute to pretty to horror and to sexy. The guys enjoyed the sexy ones and enjoyed taking picture with them, lol.

Then we finally went to the beach when it was around 5 something, only ah boy,jason lim, elaine and her sister went bear foot to play with the sand and the water where else we, the others just stood there to see them play and look at the sea. After a while of appreciating the beach and sea, we all hopped back up to the estima with our sweaty bodies and followed Elaine back to her house which is quite near Batu Kawan and Bukit Tambun which were known to have nice seafood restaurants.

But in the end, we went to the restaurant where ah boy, ah fuei and jason lim have ate before and not the restaurant which was higly reccommended by foong ming cause it was late and everyone was already hungry. We ordered a plate of vege, tomato crab, steam urinating prawn and fresh oyster. The food wasn’t really up to our satisfaction but yet to be the worst part of eating there. The environment of the restaurant wasn’t pleasant at all, it was fulled of flies flying around our food and the toilet was horrible. Believe me, don’t ever visit the toilet if u are really very full up, you’ll definately throw out. We finished our seafood dinner and it was already 8 something so we headed home straight away. On the way home, our DJ wawa continued her jokes and kept everyone awake until we reached Ipoh at 10. Actually didn’t think our DJ stopped talking at all the whole day, haha. This was really one memorable trip for me as i’ve never participated in any school trips previously. Although is just a one day trip but the memories of this trip will definately stay in my mind for a long long time.
Lastly , i sincerely thank our DRIVER Ah Boy a.k.a Ah Girl Number 3 for fetching us the whole day in his new estima. Think he’ll definately have to wash his estima after yesterday’s trip. haha
